Default Newbe question TPMS light

First, just want to say hi. Just got my first 4Runner. It's a '07 (used). White Sport model with 6 cylinder. Really like this truck!!

I have only had it for two weeks. The Tire Pressure light came on. I put equal pressure in all tires ( I have not checked the spare yet). I have "searched" and found that it could be the spare causing the light. But, I wanted to ask if it is possible to disable this feature? Seems like many people have asked about this light on several forums. Thanks

Disable? No

On the Tundra, the reset button is above your right knee under the dash as you sit in the drivers seat, not sure about the 4Run'r but I am sure you can look in your manual to find out where to reset it.

Our instructions are to turn the key to "on", do not start car, locate and depress TMPS button until light goes out, about 3-5 seconds.

Mine was on for a while, would not reset and then I found a nail in one of my tires, I thought the freaking thing was broken!

The spare tire does make a difference, all 5 tires need to be within the same range for the light to extinguish.

you should be able to disable it. i am not sure on the 08's but i did it in my 05. it requires grounding only one wire on the tmps module located inside the plastic panel mounted under the glove box. you will need to research which wire sends the signal to the instrument cluster for your particular model year.
