Default 04 Transmission Jolt Problem

This has started happening on my 04 v8 ltd. 130,000km

When stopped and easing off the brakes to accelerate, as soon as you touch the gas the truck sometimes jerks forward as if the trans slipped but engaged.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Have you checked the fluid? If its ok then I would suspect the torque converter or transmission.

sounds like axle wrap, but usually doesn't happen with coils.

yup- it is your slip yoke on the driveshaft-common issue. you just need to grease thr yoke (via the nipple). It is really common on the Sequoias

Had an issue with my '04 Tundra. After braking hard to a stop, it was like the tranny was in neutral so it would rev up, and then bam, it would kick into gear. Took it to the dealer fearing the worst (new transmision), they reprogrammed the computer for around $80, good as new!
