Install took about an hour. I'll give the basics here, and may get some pictures later.
1. Remove the little cubby under the AC.
2. Remove the screw that sits below the AC behind the cubby.
3. Pop out the AC, held in by clips, comes out easily.
4. Remove 2 screws below the driver's dash, one by the door and the other by the console.
5. Pull the dash loose, the plastic ring around the iginition will pop out, and there are 2 clips near the ignition and two near the top by the door.
6. Unhook all the switches from the dash and let it lay on the floor.
7. Remove the screw behind the dash panel, now exposed, that keeps the center trim panel in.
8. Gently pry on the trim panel and the clips should pop out.
9. Unhook all switches from the trim panel and remove.
10. Remove 4 screws holding the radio in place.
11. Unhook the small connector on passenger side and install the PA-15TOY harness, plug the original connector into the other side of the PA-15TOY harness.
12. Route the remaining PA-15TOY harness where you want the PA-15TOY box to reside.
13. Plug the
ipod harness into the PA-15TOY box and route where you want to.
14. Reassemble dash in reverse order.
The wife is out of town and I've been driving her car, so I do not have much time playing around with it yet. My initial impression is good. The sound is CD quality, or the quality at which the song was created (I use variable bit rate, low=172 high=320, mp3 compression). The steering wheel controls work well. This blows every FM modulator I've used out of the water. The only issue, if it really is an issue, that I've seen is that it takes ~10 seconds to initialize playback once you select the
ipod.
