Default Getting back into Toyota

Hey all--
It's been a while since I've been to this forum! I've owned a couple of Toyotas over the years with generally good success. After selling my car last week, I've been looking to get something a bit less expensive to tool around in. I came across a 1996 Toyota 4Runner SR5 white with black interior. The thing looks immaculate save for a dent in the tailgate. Interior looks almost brand new. It's an automatic with 4WD. Interior is cloth and there are 161,000 miles on it. I'm going to test drive it today, but I was wondering if there is anything in particular I should be concerned about with this model? The transmission was rebuilt 5000 miles ago, and the tires are new. They are asking $4500 for it. Any thoughts?

To me getting somthing with that many miles is just going to be a moeny whole yeah it looks good now but I'm quiet sure after you get it then parts are going to need some replacement. Look for one 2000 or newer just my 2 cents !

Yeah, I took it for a ride today and was less than impressed with its hill-climbing ability (i.e. I had it to the floor and it was still slowing down). I'm pretty sure I want an SUV, but I might have to pony up a bit more for a decent one. Thanks for the tip!
