Update

New starter, timing belt, drive belt, water pump, thermostat, + battery terminal, trans fluid, spark plugs, and air filter: $1220.

Fixed car: Priceless...well, no, but it really does give us a sense that our 99 4runner with 97k mi is starting its second life. It has really never had any service, except for two antenna fixes and just recently a first alignment.

Hoping for several more years of reliable use.

I am sure your are a lot more relaxed when driving knowing that it will be solid for many more thousands of miles.
