Help with tire calculation

Hi everyone,
My 1997 4Runner will need a new set of tire by summer, i'm thinking to buy set of MT tire this time but those tires are like 35 x 11.5, 33 x 12.5 etc. Don't know what that is, not like the one i know 265/75 R16.
Does anyone know how to calculate that? I need to use my 4Runner 4 hours a day on snow in winter, mostly driving around small street where no snow removing truck would visit, and don't need winter tires cause i find 4x4 works much better than winter tires. thanx.

You can play around with it and get a good idea the size differences. 35s are probably going to be too big unless you have a lift.
