First off, love how you hit the $ in lieu of the 4.
How appropriate!
You know, they have sure cut production on this car.
They also bundled a lot of pricy items together in packages that are really cheap! That's created a far smaller profit margin for dealerships (only about 10% in 'em) but with regions all struggling with less and less $$$ to play with, do not look for rebates or incentives on things there aren't many of! Such as 4Runners.
I don't think they plan to make many changes to this model in the near future... they have really focused on making the Rav4 "the new 4Runner" ... more luxury and options in those models... and even a third row. Lots of my 4Runner lease returns are coming back to me and dropping into Highlanders and Ravs.
Anyway, am still doing very sweet deals on all 4Runners. 2009.

It has been pretty quiet about the next generation. I would think that since the current generation is going on 7 years that there would be something on a new model. I haven't seen anything.
Toyota is always extremely tight about keeping their updated models under wraps. I cant wait to see the next 4runner though!

4runner is my fisrt car, i love it, but its getting old, and I do really like the new highlinder but V6 feels a little weak comparing to v8 4.7 i've got.
I cant wait to see how they going to change next gen. As far is i see from the past 4runner was always the best looking and versatile suv from toyota. so I hope that they will continue in this.

I agree; i've always liked the 4runner. We had a 99 with the small 3.4L v-6, and it was a little on the weak side for power. I still liked it, and sometimes kick myself for getting rid of it. But the 07 is a big improvement over that generation, but i liked the ground clearance on the 99 better. At least it seemed to have more clearance; haven't looked at the specs yet.
Highlander isn't really a true SUV IMO; it's more like a CUV. The 4runner has a frame, which is better.
