4Runner Automatic Transmission

hi all,
I have a 2001 4Runner 4x4 sr5. I need to replace the tranny and need help in identifying what years are compatible. I have been told a few different things and its getting a bit confusing. Are tacoma/tundra transmissions compatible as well? it is a 3.4l.

It's a A340F transmission. It was used in 2001 and 2002 4Runners, but not in any other 3rd gen years. I don't know about the Taco's or Tundra's, or 4th gen 4Runners.

thanks guys. i found one out of an 02. pulling the tranny this week and installing the new (used) one.
