I have some questions for my 04-V6. with 45K miles.
- What should I use for auto tran fluid, transfer case, and diff gear boxes?
- Where is a good online shop for OEM parts?
Your Runner will be lubed up and floating over the road. The gear lube will be the last lube you'll ever have to put in the pumpkin (500k miles); unless you get some water contamination, you should never need to replace it. The ATF will be good for 100k miles. And the motor oil is good for 35k miles or 1yr. The air filter is good for 100k miles or 4yrs and is the easiest reusable filter to clean, you use a household vacuum.
You're set, good luck with the maintenance.

Thank you in advance.
First, you need to see what trans fluid is in the truck now. Is it WS? If it is you can use Amsoil ATL, if it isn't you can just use their universal fluid.
YES....Amsoil now has a trans fluid compatible with WS tranys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Transfer case, and the diffs.........The best IMO is the Amsoil SG 75w90, but i would never consider this a lifetime fill. It is good for up to 100k miles in normal service, or 50k in severe service.
trdparts4u.com and trdsparks.com is a good place to buy most oem stuff.
Amsoil is a great lubricant for any sump on your vehicle, but you should never go the full time period they CLAIM you can, without backing it up with a used oil analysis. The SSO is what i'll be running in my tundra, but i would NEVER go 35k miles on it. The most my truck will see is 15k, but it's considered severe service. Not only that, but amsoil says it should be changed annually regardless of mileage.
Currently running Amsoil ASL 5w30 in our 4runner, and amsoil SG 75W90 in all 3 diffs and it's working great. Mileage has really improved as well. Some of it may have to do with the fact it's now broke in.
That member is no longer a supported vendor on TS.
But if you're interested in becoming an Amsoil Preferred Customer, buy a 6mo subscription for $10.00 by clicking the link below. I'll make sure you get taken care of. If you buy the PC on your first order, you'll get the discount for the lube you order as well.
What is the total ATF capacity of the transmission in this vehicle? My brother has the same 4Runner (2004/V-6/4WD/Limited). He says it uses T-IV, but doesn't know the total capacity for a full flush.

My brother said via email that the manual says 2.0 quarts. Is there anyway to determine whether you have the a A340E or A340F? He did say it was a 4 speed and has a dipstick.
Go to ToyoDIY.com, click on Select your car and enter in your VIN. Then on the right side of the sreen search for part# 35000. That's your transmission. Click on the result, it will display either A340E or A340F.
This is one of the best parts# databases for Toyotas.
