Default Steering problems

I recently bought a 2009 For Runner brand new & the steering on it stinks. It wants to float around on the hyway & you feel you do not have positive control of the steering. The dealer says there is nothing wrong with it? Any comments would certainly be welcome. Thanks, Coal Miner in Florida

I guess it all depends on your perspective. It is a large vehicle that is a bit top heavy. If you were driving a sports car before I can understand your feelings. The 4 runner will never be a big winner on a slalom course. There are things you can do to firm up the steering. You can change the shocks, buy larger diameter wheels and tires, or something as inexpensive as increasing the air pressure. Another thing you can do is have the alignment checked. If your caster is close to 0 then that can cause wander. Have it adjusted as high as possible.

Thanks for the input. This is a BRAND NEW Fore Runner. Shouldn't have to do anything to it. I had a fore Runner once before & it was perfect. I mean perfect in every way. So as Sherlock Holmes would say "And The Plot Thickens! Keep the input coming. Thanks, Coal miner still in Florida.
