Default 2009 4 Runner Sat Install question

My sister bought a 2009 limited 4 runner, but it only has the Sat button. She called the stealership and they told her it would be $400 for the unit and $75 and hour for 4 hours of labor to install it. I'm thinking this can be done for way cheaper. I'm looking for the part numbers for the Receiver and the fit kit, or whatever else I need, and if anyone knows where I can find a how to thread like the one they have over in the Tundra forum I would love to know where that is. I couldn't find one here. I installed the same setup in my Tundra for around $130 myself. Any help is appreciated.

If you're willing to do your sister a favor, (good man! ) go to Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Stereo, Home Theater, Speakers, Plasma TV and you'll be able to find everything you need to add SAT radio to her 4R. I installed their unit and it was much cheaper than the dealership and works great.
Comes with everything you need.
Good luck.

Drink more. It probably won't help you understand better, but it just might, and that's a chance worth taking....

Here you go:https://www.toyotapartsexpress.com/t...cessories.html

Put the Sirius kit and tuner in my wife's '06, install wasn't too bad, just follow the instructions.

You will have to click through year/model/interior/electronics.

Thanks guys, it looks to be about the same price as mine that I got for my Tundra, only I got mine from ebay and got a little better deal. She does have Factory GPS, I assume this won't be an issue but I didn't see that as an option when selecting the parts. So is the install fairly easy? I had a step by step guide for my Tundra so I wasn't nervous about it, the hardest part was running the antenna wire through the back light. I guess If I do this I may make you guys a how to guide since I don't see one on here or anywhere else that I can find. I just dont want to jack my sisters car up lol.

Are you doing XM or Sirius? The Sirius antenna goes on the inside of the windshield behind the rear view mirror, pretty easy install.

I have preferred sirius and I will probably tell her to go with sirius, but I know they merged. I think you still have to have a specific receiver, so I guess we will go with Sirius. Is there a plug on the back of the head unit for the receiver? Where did you mount the receiver? There were some bolts under my center console that I mounted my receiver to in my Tundra? Same set up? Is the dash hard to get out? The Tundra was fairly easy, but with the instructions I had they basically said right where to pull and tug so that it would pop out of place cleanly.

Oh and you said the antenna goes behind the rear view mirror? Does it include some sticky tape for that? It looks like the kit includes a magnetic roof mount antenna.

I noticed that the part #'s have changed since I put mine in, so I don't know if things have changed. On mine the tuner mounted under the passenger seat and the fit kit came with a wiring harness that plugged into the back of the head unit. I have a Scion HU in my 4Runner but I'm sure the Toyota one will be the same. The instructions are pretty easy to follow, took me just under 2 hours including activation. The antenna attaches with some sticky tape and seems to get pretty good reception, even better than the magnetic roof mount one in my Tundra, but that's hooked up to an old Sportster. Just make sure whoever you get your tuner from actually sends you the instructions. The place I got mine from had a good price, but they never sent the instructions even after seversl phone calls and them saying they would send them. I ended up paying $10 and downloaded them from the Toyota Information Sysem.
