Question auxillary power plug

Does anyone know how to make the auxillary power plub ALWAYS on? I keep my phone plugged in and it's always going dead because it goes on battery when the truck is turned off.

Thanks :

I ran a wire off of the fuse block to keep mine "hot" all the time. I think it was off of the brake lights. If you do this, make sure you use an in line fuse in case it ever grounds out.

There is a mod for this. Look in the fuse box under the hood. There is a relay for the power outlet. Remove the relay and connect a jumper from the "hot side" to the "power outlet" side.

If you become a member---there's pictures and examples for this modification and many more for your perousal (sp). Good Luck!

My husband is a member. He found the pics for the Tundra (his vehicle) but can't find any for the 4-Runner (my vehicle). Any direction would be helpful!

That mod is not applicable to the new 4runner. There doesn't seem to be a way outside of running a new wire to the plug.
