Question Rear Power window

It's a 90 4runner 3.0L V6 4dr 4wd.

What's wrong if the rear window doesn't go up any more? It beeps when the up switch is pressed but nothing happens and a click like a relay sound when the down switch is pushed. Currently the window is down all the way. Could it be a bad relay, bad motor, what?

Sounds like a bad motor. My friend has a 92 and replaced his twice (junkyard parts.) It a pretty easy job and you can probably find one fairly easy. You may still be able to get one from the dealer, but it will be expensive.

Took a 12v probe light and prod it around and found out it was the passenger tailgate latch that wasn't making good ground contact.

Default Re-programming Rear Window - 2004 4Runner

From the wireless remote, you can lower the rear hatch window, of course. But, is there a way to program the remote so it can also raise the window? I noticed in the owner's manual it says (page 21):

"The back window opening program by wireless remote control can be changed or disabled. For details, contact your Toyota dealer."

Before contacting my dealer, I thought I'd see if anyone had these instructions.

Thanks!

Default Re: Rear Power window

I just bought a 93 4 Runner and it has a problem to with the rear window to but the motor works, sorta. I pulled the panel off and lubed the workes up and now it sorta works but the gate switch will only roll up the window and not roll it down but the console switch will work for both up and down and the gate switch works I pulled it out and tested it even took the switch apart and tested the contacts as well as cleaned them, that will save me a few bucks. It may be a relay but i don't know where that is so I can't even look at it. Do's anyone know where this relay sits or what the problem may be?

Your 06 4Runner rear window will only go down with the remote? THAT is not right. I would take it back to the dealer!!
