Your Vin does not apply for the VO6.
But does need a 50N relay rod:
SUBJECT: SSC 50N - STEERING RELAY ROD REPLACEMENT
CERTAIN 1989 – 1995 TRUCK 4WD, 1990 – 1995 4RUNNER 2WD AND 4WD, AND 1993 –
1998 T100 4WD VEHICLES (BOTH WITH AND WITHOUT POWER STEERING)
Toyota will initiate a Special Service Campaign to replace the Steering Relay Rod on certain 1989 –
1995 Truck 4WD, 1990 – 1995 4Runner 2WD and 4WD, and 1993 – 1998 T100 4WD vehicles (both with
and without Power Steering).
On the involved vehicles, if the steering wheel is repeatedly turned under certain conditions where high
steering effort is required, for instance, when fully turning the wheel while the vehicle is stopped, a fatigue
crack may develop in the Steering Relay Rod. In the worst case, the Steering Relay Rod may fracture,
causing a loss of vehicle steering control and thus increasing the possibility of a crash.

Thank god I found this forum.

Last fall my 1990 V6 4Runner started running rough and then smoking when I accelerated. Huge loss of power. It had an oil leak for a while but I just kept topping it up and hoping for the best. Since then, I've been stuck with a truck that doesn't run and is going to cost BIIIIIIG $$$$$$ to fix. Can someone please run my VIN to see if I qualify for any repair programs?

Hi, I'm new here too. I found this forum while searching on Google.

I moved to Australia recently and there's a 1995 4Runner I want to buy. The owner has no idea about any recall work as he is the third owner. Does anyone know if the head gasket recall was offered in Australia and if so would this particular vehicle still be covered? Also, is there any way of knowing if the timing chain was ever changed on the engine? I'd be super appreciative of any help anyone could offer me. Thanks.

That VIN says INVALID in the Toyota Data base here in the US. Are you sure it is correct?
This vehicle does not have a timing chain. Any info about service history is illegal to give out....(personal protection laws). We can only give you whatever WARRANTY work has been performed on this vehicle, but I cant run the VIN, it doesnt come up.

Sorry that VIN does NOT come up in the US data base."NOT VALID" Maybe someone from AU can run it. Won't a delaer in AU run that for you?

The nearest dealer I called (about 40 min drive away) wouldn't help me on the phone. I think he thought I was trying to pull a fast one on him. I have to be there in person to get assistance.

It has 140,000 miles on it and I want to check to first of all see if it is eligible and maybe if the head gasket issue has already been addressed on this truck. Thank you for your help

Great, thanks for the help. The head gasket issue concerns me and I had a 92 pickup a while back that had gasket issues and it wansn't cheap to fix. I'm starting to rethink my options and might look more towards the 2002 4runner model year. Unless anyone else know of any major recalls/defects in that model year. Thanks to all for any help/opinions...
