4Runner Head Gasket Recall??

mustang67408 can you please check this vin: jt3vn39w0s0219550. I'm was about to purchase this 4runner but then I started reading about all these head gasket recalls. I know its about 13 years to late but I'd like to know if it at least fell in the year and see if my local dealer would honor this recall. If not I may not buy it. I don't want to spend $2500 after just buying it to replace the Head gasket. Nice thing about this 4runner is it only has 115000 miles. Thanks so very much!!

Sorry this took so long, but I took a few days off of work.
It looks the the headgaskets were replaced in 1998 @(25K miles) but not under the V06. This vehicle does not apply.
The 50N was also already done.

Would you be willing to check my vehicle too? I have a 1995 V6 3.0L 4Runner that has recently developed a head gasket leak passenger side, back of the engine block. The VIN is: JT3VN39W3S8081360

I'm considering purchasing a 1994 4-Runner, 151k, 2WD, Automatic, 3.0- V6 but I've been researching it and the head gasket thing scares me to death. Especially that people are reporting issues AFTER it was replaced under the warranty. Is there an easy way to tell what shape the current gaskets are in regardless of whether or not they have been replaced?

Is there anything else I should be on the lookout for? The lady said she had some work done on it 2 years ago and she thinks she's still got all of the information on it. She mentioned the timing belt. I'm going to have my local dealership run the VIN to see what kind of warranty work it has had.

I've got 2 Camry's - a 2004 with 105k (never had any problems) and a 1996 with 237k (no major problems other than the expected with that many miles). Totota has a great reputation - except for the 3.0V6 it seems. I've seen other complaints about the 3.0V6 besides the head gasket: engine is too big so it's hard to work on, much worse gas mileage than the versions before and after it, etc. Is this a matter of a small minority making noise? What do you guys who work on them every day think?

I drive my vehicles pretty easy and I understand that makes the head gaskets last longer. I won't be towing anything or going off-road. I just need something to get me back and forth to work (20 interstate miles each way at 70 mph) and it would be nice to have the versatility of a 4Runner for weekend trips to The Home Depot. I live on the outskirts of Atlanta so I get some traffic but usually it's not too bad.

I just want to make sure that I make a good decision. I'm not usually one to jump on the first opportunity that comes along but this one is in my neighborhood and it's a good price ($2,500).
