Default 04 runner rear wiper

Rear wiper is worthless on my new 4 runner with less than 5000 miles. Anyone have this problem. Used it maybe 6 times worked great for the first 5.

Default Rear Wiper

After 13,000 miles my rear wiper is working great. I didn't use it much in the beginning and it didn't very well then either. I found that the more I used it, the better it worked. I make a point of using it when ever I can to keep it limber. Like other things in life I guess.

I rarely use mine because it seems like the rear glass is made of butter. It scratches real easy. I noticed the scratches after using my plastic ice scraper.

I have 9k on my 2004 and the wiper only touches at the very top. Sad when you pay that much for a vehicle.

I thought it was just me. My 04 Limited rear wiper just stopped working too. Only used it a few times. Anyone have any luck getting it fixed? I haven't brought it in yet.

Hey guys, Make sure your rear window is all the way up. If not the computer will not let it work. My rear wiper works flawless. I wish the delay time was longer though.

Cool

my rear wiper acts weird.

When I first turn it on, it acts like it's in high mode (even though it's in low) then when I flip it up to high it stays the same speed but then starts actually touching the glass. Then I can slow it back down to low and have it go a bit slower.

Funky.

My runner's got a bit of character, I'd say.

Had the issue of wiper not working, checked fuse everything looked okay. Just reviewed this forum. Went outside to make sure the rear window was up, bingo! Wiper works! Saved myself a trip to the dealership.

THe rear wiper on my 03 has never cleaned the window. I see there is a TSB on the 2003 wiper arm.....it was easily bent and replaced with a stouter arm. I need that, as mine completely snapped off!

I found that the sliding rear window has to be all the way up for the motor itself to work

yes I have this problem but I have 80k on my 4Runner. Any fix? I can't view the TSB. Is it 2003 only? Should be considered safety equipment and repairable under warranty.
