Xm Radio in 2004 4Runner

I have a question that I hope one of you knows the answer too. I have 2004 Toyota 4runner sports edition with the JBL sound system. I see that the 2006 4runners can now be ordered with XM radio. I had XM in my last car and really miss it. My question is would it be possible to buy a new 2006 factory radio and have it installed in my 2004 4runner. I understand that I would need to get the antenna too. I just wonder if they 2006 radio would possible work in my 2004. I really like the look of the interior and do not want to mess up the look with putting in an after market radio. Also if you have any suggestions about what I should do I would love to hear them, Thanks in advance.

It would probably be less expensive to get an aftermarket radio. You could get a better quality head unit with more features than a stock unit for way less than what you would get from the dealer. The other option would be to wait until they start showing up on ebay. You would have to make sure that the wiring is the same or you will need a shop manual to determine the pin out.

I am curious about this, too. Yeah, the cost is higher, but you get a stereo that looks like it belongs there.

I have an '04 w/nav and would be willing to spend the money to put an '06 HU to get all the features: bluetooth, mp3, etc...
