Default 2006 V8 vs. V6 Trailer Hitch

Is the 4Runner trailer hitch different with the V8 vs. the V6? I was at the dealer today, and the one V8 they had, had a different trailer hitch from the V6's. The one on the V8 4Runner hung about 2.5" lower, and had a bar on each side that went partially around the spare. The V6's all had hitches that came out of the bumper. The V8 hitch seemed to hang a bit low for 4 wheeling. I wasn't sure if the V8 one I saw was the factory hitch, or an aftermarket one. All of the 4Runners were brand new.
