Default Rear shocks or suspension noisy-2006 4runner

Has anyone experienced or had any problems with ther 2006 4runner sport rear suspension. If I go over a bump or make a u turn there is a squeaky noise thats eminates into the cabin- by the center post. It appears it is coming from the rear shocks or suspension !! The dealer states that Toyota is not aware of any problems, however the service department advised me that 2 other 06 sport models did the same thing !!!!!

06 Sport Edition here - Just over 2000 miles - So far no noises from rear or front.

'06 Sport, No noise. About 2000 Miles as well. But my catalytic converter is bad. Toyota is replacing it....but it took some convincing. Cabin smells like amonia/rotten eggs upon acceleration. I suggest you keep at them.

My 2004 sport makes a loud noise when you turn into parking spots. It comes from the front left. Has done this from day one. Mostly when you turn the wheel the wheel all the way to the right. Dealer told me that is normal without even looking at it. Said the same thing about my A/c which sucks.

Yes, Skisurf2, that particular noise is normal - it's a stop in the steering/suspension system. I had a Nissan truck many years ago that did that.

If it is a stop, why does it only do it to the right.

not to be funny or anything but mine only does it when i cut the wheel to the left

I did have a noise in my 05 from the pass. rear wheel that when i would let go of the brakes, it would make this noise that I have only heard one place. if you have ever seen ferris buellers day off, when they are siting around and he is plucking his cheek, he makes that dripping sound. that is what the 4runner does. i havent heard it recently but it has not happened recently.

    yes,

I posted " In squeaky hell" earlier, I have the same noise in my 04 SE. I've had it since day one. I keep bugging the dealer, but of course when I take it there, they never hear it. I even took it for a test drive with one of their mechanics and no noise.

I hear small squeeks when i go over bumps at moderate to slow speeds, when i go over little bumps etc...

Keep me posted if you ever get it solved. I have 28K miles on mine, and it keeps squeeking.

Talking Re: Rear shocks or suspension noisy-2006 4runner

I had the same problem in my 06 Tacoma. I took it back to the dealership about fifteen times before they finally fixed it. All you need to do is take it in when it is at it's absolute dirtiest, (that part is important btw) and tell them that Toyota has issued what they call a "sqeak kit" for anyone that complains about having the noise come from the rear shocks, all they will do is take out the leaf-springs and add some stuff and yada yada yada....Your Toy will be completely sqeak free! And trust me you need to do this soon because it is only going to get worse and worse once it starts, mine sounded like a damn dump truck before it was fixed~~Brandy

My 2006 4Runner SE also is beginning to squeak/creak when going up parking lot culverts unevenly. The sound comes from the passenger side near the rear wheel area. Is this the same problem others are experiencing? If so how would you approach the dealer? I hate taking something in when of course, the squeak cant be reproduced by the technician. Should I wait for it to get worse?

    Any thoughts.

    Merry Christmas,

    Brandon

I would love the same information. How do I approch the dealer. I have claimed that here has been a squeeky noise since I've purchased my 04 SE. I posed " in squeeky hell" last august.

    What is this squeek kit?

    the noise doesn't go away.
