I have a 2003 V8 T4R with 67,000 miles on her. Warped rotors and a bad HVAC relay so far. I have a 1994 Jeep with 200,000 miles on it which I purchased new. But its about ready to explode.

hey fellas my daughter has a 97 that she will not part with for nothing, drives to college has 276,000 and i wouldnt be afraid to go cross country in it. of course we have done regular mant. and timing belt. long live toyota.....
My 1997 4-runner has 142,000 and has been completely repair free other than the starter. It has never broken down and I tow a boat with it and don't baby it at all. The power steering pump seems like it's going bad now-has anyone had that happen? It's really noisy when it's cold and then when it's warm I don't notice it much. Definitely getting worse over time. Bad bearing? Seems like it should be easy to replace though.
We're only at appx 40K on an '03.....After dealing with the dam'd belt tensioner (missing the warranty by 3-4Kmi) I hope my only worries are some warped rotors..........That would be nice........

just hit 167,000 on my 98 SR5, everything on it still works like a champ! has the original brakes, but by my other posts, it's time for them to go. All regular maint. done at sched. intervals and what i could do I did myself i.e oil, trany, diff. fluids. coolant a couple of batteries, spark plug wires etc. Any work I couldn't do, I would take to a trusted mechanic. and definitely not the stealership!

142000 on a 95 SR5 2WD. I drive it to work every day. Only forced downtime has been for the Water Pump/Timing belt replacement at 100,000, and replacing the U-joints last month. Only other problems have been the A/C expansion valve at 125K, and the speedometer at 72k. I wish I could have bought two, 11 1/2 years ago.
2002 4Runner Sport 208k miles with no problems but...
Crazy 4wheel carnage:
Left CV axle, front diff, 8 sets of rear shocks, 2 sway bar bushings, 2 sets of brakes up front, 1 set drums and 3 sets of tires. Skid plates have been hammered back into shape about 3 times and repainted twice.
I love my 4runner
1990 4Runner SR5 5spd V6 has 253k and had a bhg. Still reliable.

The front differential seal started leaking, replaced.
And then about a month ago my heater core started leaking. Talk about a time consuming and expensive fix.
The only other problem I have had was the warped rotors since new. I overheated them once when it was new and they come and go. No big deal though and I have just kept driving it the way it is.
Nice to hear that there are no real big problems. I am hoping mine will last another 100K without any major problems.
1996 4Runner SR5 V6 4x4 5spd (manual) 187K+. Front brakes and clutch lasted 135K+. Rear brakes 160K+. The first 50K were put done on the Autobahn in Germany the rest have been in Central New York. I love this truck and it still runs great even with the vibration problems that started happening last summer. I am still working through those. I have had tires rotated, balanced and completely replaced with no luck. My next try was going to be rear the rear shocks. With the exception of the right front ball joint and link pins all of the suspension parts are OE. My only other issue is that it is green so people forget to stop when they see it coming .
141K on my 97. I wheel it pretty hard and haven't had any problems with it. I change the oil every 3k miles, rotate the tires and keep on drving it!

My '86 4 banger has 225000 and counting. Same engine, timing belt, tranny and only tuneup has been spark plugs (2 sets) spark plug wires (1 set) and Alternator. 3 sets of brake pads on front and still orig shoes on rear. Still runs well and has enuff power to go up a 2% incline . I have used Slick 50 in it since it had 50K miles. Time for a new one, huh?
