Question Need some input on purchase decision ASAP!

Vehicle 1: 2000 4Runner Limited (desert dune 2 tone paint w tan int), 111K miles. Alternator whine in radio. No roof rack. New tires.

Vehicle 2: 2001 4Runner SR5 w/every option incl leather (white ext tan int). No electric seats. Has roof rack, missing cargo cover. 1 small 2" dent and keyless remote broken. 86K miles. 50% tread.

I am torn between these two. I would opt for the lower mileage vehicle but I am in love with the desert dune color and 2 tone. The 2001 did drive a bit nicer. I can get them for the exact same price.

What's the difference between the 4wd systems? The limited has the J pattern shifter and the SR5 just goes from H to 4L. Both have pushbutton 4wd and difflock.

I'm making a decision tomorrow. I need some objective input. The 25K mi difference represents 2 years of driving. From an aesthetic standpoint however the Limited is in a bit better condition.

Thanks

-Tom

I would go for the lower mileage one. It has a roof rack which comes in handy sometimes (christmas tree ) Also has leather! Power seats are more of a bother I think, I guess I'm too impatient for how slow they are to adjust. I am sure the appearance of the 01 is just dirt? or you wouldn't even consider it? Just get it professionally detailed.

I am not sure about the 4wd options, my 4runner had 2wd, 4hi, n, 4lo. But it did not have the pushbutton 4wd.

Remotes are easy to come by on ebay and easy to program. I barely used my cargo cover at all. If you really wanted one I see them for sale frequently on ebay and on the classifieds section of YotaTech. Make sure you know what type you are looking for. Some years had square mounts and some had circular mounts.

I can see how the color can be tempting though, that Desert Sand color is awesome, and it looks great with the two-tone.
