I found a kit on ebay that allows you to use your factory remote. I am going to order it soon I think for my girlfriends 4runner. Her factory remotes have an 'aux' button on them so that will start it. if you dont have that button then you just push lock unlock lock and it starts. Its also all plug and play

+1 on the Viper 791XV 2 way responder system! Had mine for a couple of years with "ZERO" problems.

^I'd reccomend not to use RS add-on.
1. key fob is disable when RS
2. range is very limited

get on ebay and search for viper 550esp (used $75-100), 560xv(new ~130), or clifford rs2.5 (same as 550esp, just diff color remote).

anything made by DEI (valet, python, clifford, viper, hornet) is a good RS unit.

what year and trim package is your 4runner?
some required bypass for chipped key.

I have installed a lot of scytek 2way alarms 5000 models, ebay has got prices. Bulldog alarms and the12volt.com website have both great free wiring diagrams
