Default 2003 4runner LOCKS!!

SO I WAS CLEANING MY WINDOWS LAST NIGHT AND UNLOCKED MY 4RUNNER. ABOUT A MIN OR SO THE CAR LOCKED ON ITS OWN. GOOD THING THE KEYS WERE NOT IN THE SEAT OR SOMETHING. HOW CAN I MAKE IT NOT DO THAT. IT IS A GOOD THING FOR IT TO DO IF YOU FORGET TO LOCK IT, BUT WHAT IF THE KEYS ARE IN IT......

Default Hmm

Well you might need to describe this some more. Because with most cars, when you unlock a car with the remote entry system, and then you don't open a door within like 30 seconds to a minute, it will re-lock the doors automatically for security reasons, and it knows you have the remote, so it's not like you're locking the keys in the car. Was this what happened?

Sequoia2003 has little shameless behaviour in the past.
Default Read your manual

Not sure if it will work on the new s3000 system, but my 98 Tacoma Limited used to do the same thing. I remember though, I was able to change that by doing something like turn ignition to ACC while holding the Unlock button on the remote, then press it twice. Something like that. Check your manual to your remote entry, there are different settings that you can set it to, maybe there is one to disable the self locking system.

The doors will automatically re-lock after you use the keyless entry to unlock them if you don't open a passenger door. If you open a passenger door after unlocking it, it will not automatically lock them again until you get in, start the engine and put it into a drive gear. Hope this helps.

Lightbulb Passive Arming

This sounds similar to actually an old-school trick/option for alarms. Its called passive arming. Don't know if it'll work, but turn off the ignition, remove your keys (take them w/ you). and close the door. Don't lock or arm the alarm. After a set period of time, the doors should automatically lock and supposedly arm the system. If it doesn't do it, than Toyota still has a crappy alarm system.
pretty handy, though if you forget to set your alarm or lock your doors.
