Exclamation Help! She wont start, possible spdsensor?

My Toyota dealer said it code 42 for defective no1 speedsensor. Classic signs of speedsensor problems; o/d light comes on, engine light comes on, engine slams back into o/d, engine light goes off. Anyway, they said ok to replace later, and I took them up on their advice. Now less than 2 months later, she wont start! It started when I left on a trip for 20 days. Came back to extreme cold temperatures and no juice on the battery. Airport authority gave a free jump and started slow but within 5 seconds. One of the latest symptoms of the speedsensor has been to stall when given too much accelleration or with decelleration for stop light or sharp turns. After this symptom, she died in the turn 5 minutes after the jump. Lights were very dim even too dim to run hazards. Dad came to rescue, but no dice as the jump didn't work. New battery and still nothing! One very odd symptom now is, I have no problem pushing the vehicle with it in 1,2, or D. Its an automatic (dont laugh 4 wheelers yet) and 2 wheel drive (laugh now). Its a 95 4runner with around 90,000 miles. This problem did seem to start after I blew a headgasket. Although had the rough idle fixed with another repair that caused the symptoms to go away about 6 months ago. Can a speedsensor cause no start? Is it possible the vane sensor can cause a speedsensor error? Could there be more than 1 problem? Can anyone else push their truck with it in gear (mine can only not be pushed in P, not having tried R yet)? Which side is no1? Any information would be very much appreciated, and I have pig thick skin, so comments are welcomed about my beloved 2wd automatic!
Thanks Again,
Casey

Sounds like there is more than 1 problem. Obviously the fact that is a 2wd auto is the biggest. I would say that the cold start problem is battery related. I would check the new battery to make sure it is good. It isn't uncommon for bad batteries to be sold. You may want to take it to a place like sears and have them run some tests to see if it is the alternator, battery or other electrical problem.
