There is a member that posts here form time to time named "Gadget". He knows more about supercharging a 3.4 than anyone I have come across. You can PM him or post your question in the forum.

What's the good word? This is brocsand and I'm a proud owner of an '02 4Runner SR5. I test drove the '06 Limited with a V8 thinking I could trade it in but just couldn't bring myself to part from it! And the sticker shock! There are a lot of things I would like to do with it in the future: like lifting a couple inches, adding foglights, grille guard, etc. But my dream (not unlike many) is to get it supercharged, trd headers/exhaust, 7th injector, tougher tranny, and a nice intake system. So if you have any experience or good advice on how to eventually make this my reality, drop me a line. I'm still attending school at the University of Utah, so my ideas may have to stand in line behind the less expensive ones! But really, if anyone out there can get me some insight on getting the best fuel economy out of my 4Runner, SPILL IT PLEASE!!!

HI,
My name is Mark. I have owned a blue Tundra 2000 access cab for 3 years now. Last weekend we bought a 2004 4runner Limited for the wife. I went with the V8 because I wanted to be able to pull my boat with a vehicle that would make it a little more comfortable for my fast growing son to seat in the back on long trips. It is a liitle tight in the Tundra access cab. Now my wife is telling me, her 4runner is just too nice to pull the boat!!! We will have to work on that one. She just loves the 4runner. She has been driving an explorer for a while now.

Hi to whoever is reading this. I own an RAV4 2002 and have had a problem with it. The engine light continues to go on and off and now the transmission seems to slip at low speeds. Does anyone know how they diagnose this problem at a dealer, like what kind of tests do they run, etc.?? I would appreciate any help I am given because right now I am getting the run around.

First thing is to read the MIL which is triggering the light with an OBDII reader.

Red face Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/4Runner Owners Introduce Yourself Here!

Hi all, I'm Sheriff John and I'm marrying into a 1999 4-runner. I'm very pleased! Now only 4 months until my wedding day, I'm finding myself trying to figure out fault codes. Hmmm....but this place is great. I've found a thread that some one has the same fault codes that I am getting. P0125, P1130, P1135. so it tells me that it's my A/F sensor at Bank 1, Sensor 1.

Now the only problem right now is...Where is Bank 1, Sensor 1 on a 1999 4-runner?

Thanks for the help.

SJ

Hi! I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I have a 2000 4Runner with the sensor rear view mirror that shows compass heading and temperature. It is a stock item and has the two buttons on the mirror frame at the bottom. The problem is the temperature quit functioning and I was wondering if there was something reasonably simple I could do to fix it? I would appreciate any help on this matter.

thanks for reading,
T

I just traded my 02 Tundra Access Cab V8 TRD etc with an 06 4Runner Sport V8 with some extra's. This site was a great resource for my tundra, it appears to also be great for 4Runner info.

Thanks for the welcome. The reason I joined was that I couldn't find any help with a problem that I have with my '01 4 Runner. I would appreciate any help that you kind folks could give me.

The power antenna nylon retractor is broke off of the antenna, and I understand that I need to remove the inner fender wall to get at the motor. The problem is that I can't remove the inner fender without first removing the fender flares. I can't figure out how to get the fender flares off. Can someone explain the procedure to me or direct me to where I can get help?

Thanks,

Norm H.

Hey everyone:

I recently purchased an 05 4runner after driving a 00 Tacoma. WOW! Did I learn to appreciate a previous (94) 4Runner. The ride is awesome and handles just as I remembered.

Has anyone installed a sirius in-dash stereo in the vehicle. I have heard that installation kits are available however, I cannot find one anywhere.

Thanks for the assistance.

Jeff

Hi Norm,

Norm I had a Jeep that did the same thing. I repaired the Nylon tape by removing the old one on the reel and then inserted the tape in the old hole and heated it so I could mushroom the end until it cooled. The reassyembly is a little tricky. but remember which way it coiled in and test it with leads from a battery charger (12 Volts) to make sure it coils in the antenna. Th Is fix shortens the rise about 3 inches or more.

It is worth a try as a new one will cost you over a hundred bucks. You can also hunt the junck yards for used ones for about half the price.

The flares are normally attached with plastic plugs Removing with a flat tool helps and if you screw them up, you can buy somemore at the dealers.
You can also go on line to find the way to removbe the flares.

I am happy that my 05 4 Runner Limited has no metal retracting antenna. Mine are built into the rear sdie windows. Great idea from the past.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Ed K.

Unhappy Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/4Runner Owners Introduce Yourself Here!

Looking for some help here. Own '99 4-Runner 3-speed auto 4.3 Ltr 6 cy. The last few days it has been shifting into 3rd gear about 39 mph. I don't feel any surging or lack of power, but think it was shifting into 3rd gear about 30-31 mph. Are there bands that need adjusting or why would it do this?
Thanks,
Rhikerdad
