New poster.. Just purchased a 2006 SR5 V6 4x4 upgraded from a 2004 SR5 V6 4x4.
Anyone notice that after accelleration and you let off the gas it slows down drastically. Almost like its has not shifted to the next gear? Is that the system getting used to my driving???

Hello All, from sunny Tennessee!
I'm the happy owner of a 1991 Toyota 4runner SR5-v6 -- had this baby for going on 16 years (!) with my first problem happening today! Had to see it towed in for service... I'll post my concerns re: possible fuel pump vs. ignition coil in a more appropriate thread...

Hello everyone, I am a proud owner of a 1995 4runner. She has served me well in the last nine years, 174,000 miles. I finally had to break down and fix the leaking head gaskets. I did it myself(whew!) but now am having problems with getting her to fire over. She cranks but no fire. I haven't had much luck with the dealership so I am now turning to you all for support and some advice.

I'm new here...we purchased our 2006 4Runner almost 4 weeks ago. However, the spare tire was stolen from underneath the vehicle last weekend and $1000 later, I'm trying to figure out how to prevent it from happening again.

Hi all!
I have owned my 1996 4runner for about three years now and love it of course. Have managed to keep most of the panels straight, but the truck does get used in the rough stuff.

Give the drive shaft in front of the rear diff. a good shot of grease and this should cure the problem I had it done at the dealership on my last oil change and it slowly dissapeared.
Sun roof, -- That is a dealer only adjustment
Heater -- Your guess is as good as mine. Sorry

Our 03 v8 has over 61k on it, and only little nagging things have kept this from being a wonderful vehicle (and of course the gas mileage). We bought this one to replace a 97 4runner that my wife totalled (black ice is a bad thing at 40 mph).
Here are the annoyances - any suggestions?
Clunking auto trans at stop lights.
Occasionally the sun roof forgets where to stop in the cycle between pop up, closed and open, so you have to fine tune the position of the glass to avoid wind noise.
The heater/a/c fan has developed a high pitched (sporadic) chirping on low speeds.
Other than that, smooth sailing and happy motoring![/quote]

HELLO TO ALL
I have been a member of this forum for quite some time, never have posted anything yet, so here goes
I have owned a 04 SR5 V8 since Dec 04, it now has 21.5 rounds on the clock, have taken numberous trips with it, on the hiway at 68 or 69 mph i get a constant 20mpg, some times if conditions are favorably a bit better. The best i have ever got was Colorado mountain driving at about 55 to 60, 23.5 mpg.
Overall i like the truck a lot, allthough it is not perfect, no vehicle i have ever owned was and being 64 years old i have owned in the neighborhood of 40 new vehicles. A couple of things i dislike are the front seat, after a couple of hours driving it is nolonger comfortable, if gets to feeling to narrow eventhough im 6-1 and only weight 175 lbs. Another is the fact that i have to lube the slip jionts on the drive shafts every 2 to 3 months reguardless of miles to keep the driveline klunk quiet. Also i have had a rattle in the right rear (sounds like rt side back seat is not locked in upright position but is) when the right rear wheel brops into a chuck hole.
Enough bitching as i said overall i think the truck is great.

Hello everyone!
I just purchased a 2000 4runner 4WD Sport. It is millenium silver metallic and has 63k on it. I have owned it for 3 weeks but still cannot drive it because I am awaiting the title. So, it is sitting in the garage, waiting for the paperwork, calling my name Good 'ol Massachusetts usually has a backwards way of doing things, and this is no exception.
This is my 1st 4runner, but my 2nd Toyota. I just sold a 1995.5 Tacoma which was great! It had 170k on it when I sold it and the new owner loves it too!
I am enjoying this site, and am going to post some questions tonight, as I am hoping to get some answers about some suspension questions I have.
Well, that's it for now, looking forward to the group!

Need help! Planning on changing my 04 4Runner V6 spark plugs in the next couple of weeks or so. Have changed plugs before with older corollas. But do not know if it safe to remove hoses close to the 1st plug on the driver side of this 4runner. Need advice, if not instructions.

Thanks.
If you don't have 100,000 miles on your truck you do not have to change the plugs per the maual.
As for the second part of your question don't know the answer, sorry !
