Looks like a K&N knockoff to me. I think it is very unlikely to improve performance and could reduce performance and economy since it is using hot underhood air instead of the stock system which pulls in cool air from outside. If you look at their performance chart (which is very deceptive) the maximum claimed hp gain is 15 (only 7%) at 5000 RPM. How often do you drive at 5000 RPM? Note too that all the claimed performance gains are above 3250 RPM. Most driving is done under 3000 RPM. They also did not specify the test conditions or the condition of the vehicle which make their claims suspect. I would just put in a new OEM air filter and save the $230. There is the "cool" factor though, and it is impossible to calculate what that's worth.
