Default Re: '04 Sequioa Detonation/Pinging

This happened with my "2002" Tundra a few years back. I noticed it in very hot weather under very have acceleration. I was using regular gas and I was always filling up at Raceway gas station (I local gas station). I ran the truck very low on gas a went to another gas station and filled it up with regular gas and the problem went away completely. These motors are made to run on regular gas and if filling it up with a higher octane fixes the problem then the timing or something else is off and needs to be fixed in my opinion. If I where you I would first try running the tank low and filling up at a different gas station and if that don't work try another octane. If another octane does work I would take it to the dealer and inform them of your findings. Just my opinion, Johnnny
