It is fine until I stomp the gas to pass somebody on the interstate and then it starts pinging like crazy.
I use unleaded plus (89) and have had all my oil changes and my 15K and 30K service done at the dealership (30K service cost $400 ).
I had told them to check on the issue back then and they said they couldn't replicate the problem-but I seem to have no problem

Yep have had it for nearly 4 years since new. Told it was normal. Tried all of the normal fixes. Do a search for ping, pinging, rattling, etc. and you will see tons of threads on this subject over the last 4 years some of which I have started. One in particualr is entitled, "the dreaded ping, revisited once again" I believe it was. Anyway do a search and you will definitely find many opinions on this. As a side note I finally solved my pinging problem when gas prices got so high. I have instituted the 2000 rpm rule in my truck in every gear. Therefore no pinging under load or when passing because no more load or passing. I am like a little old lady now but I get 16 mpgs in town and 21 on the highway consistently, as oppossed to the 13 and 17 I used to get when i punched it all the time, and it didn't cost me a penny. And like I said, no more ping. I am sure it is still there, I just don't hear it anymore.
