Both my 01 Tundra A/C 4x4, and my 04 Four Runner 4x4 have the 4.7 V8. I use Chevron regular unleaded gas rated at 85 octane. I haven't had any pinging problems even when towing. Don't use cheep gas. Ask your dealer what brand they recommend.
