Well I broke down and had my z1 installed today. I was looking forward to the challenge myself, but found out they thought they had to bury the stock jbl head unit in my dash or under the seat to get the amp to turn on. But it turns out for some reason my truck has the jbl amp. behind the seats like the jbl sythesis pkg. but on my head unit it doesent say synthesis??? So they had to run a bunch of extra wires back to the amp and stuff. So now I'm wondering if I have the jbl synthesis pkg. but the original head unit was damaged somehow and the dealership replaced it with the regular jbl head unit. Would there be an easy way of checking this? Is there a number on the amp or would the amp say synthesis on it? But anyways its finally in and working. Wow what a sweet head unit I am still working on figuring the thing out and probably will be for days to come. I will try to get a good picture of it up here in the next day or two. I am also wondering what others have done to fill the gaps on either side of it. My installer just used electrical tape on either side of the panel that pioneer gives you to fill the gaps, he said that eclipse gives you three different ones to use but pioneer only one. So it looks good I just might have to modify it a lil to meet my needs.

Yes I love my avic z1 tooo had it since aug very very happy your unit should have a factory black benzel plastic peice that came with the Unit why did he use tape is beyond me >>>??????
