I've had three 4x4's, thankfully(knocking on wood) I've never experienced any drivetrain problems with any of them. that being said, obviously, a 2WD would be better in the long run. Now, on theV6, you'd have to talk to one of the owner's of a V6 here, but the way I see it, you're still pushing the same weight, with less HP, don't see how the V6 would warrant very much savings in gas there, may just be me talking out my butt, don't know on that one..
