Red face MPG!! I've got to eat crow!!!!

My 2006 Tundra 4X4, TRD, Acab, just turned 5,000 miles.. I've been getting 17+ MPG town and 20+ at 60-65MPH Hi way.. I've told others that a tonneau cover would NOT Improve gas mileage... my 2000 Tundra had a tonneau cover and It didn't seem to help the MPG... I installed the Pace Edwards Rabbit tonneau cover last week... today we drove down to Colo, Spgs, Co. from Loveland, Co. Our alt. here Is 5,000 ft.. Colo, Spgs, alt. Is 6,200 ft. going and returning from there you climb to 7,200 ft. alt over Monument hill. Round trip was 232.0 miles. I topped off on our return ..It took 9.96 gallons..= 23.29 MPG..WOW I'm now eating crow.... I believe that the tonneau cover does help the MPG.. I have a lite foot... try to keep the RPM at or below 2000 In town..
