Default Re: You're doing an oil change on a new Truck?

Well, I've had high mileage engines apart (car and motorcycle), some of which used conventional oil and some of which used synthetic. The ones using synthetic oil were much cleaner and showed less wear (bearings and cam lobes) than the others. Not scientific evidence, but good enough for me.

Also, feel conventional oil (after 3000 miles) between your thumb and finger. Do the same with synthetic after 5000 miles. The conventional oil is like dirty water, and the synthetic oil is still very slippery.
