Re: Safety Recall!
I have a 2002 tundra and i even called toyota to check about the recall. They ran my VIN number and said that my truck wasn't affected by this.
well....about a month later I'm going down the road and my wheel...well, it fell off. IT FELL THE F*&K OFF. I was fine, but I was going about 40 around a turn and slid down the road with oncoming traffic. Since I had no front brakes (brake line snapped) I just skidded until I stopped several feet from where there was a cross where someone was killed and a bunch of trees (kinda scary). Apparently my lower ball joints snapped, just like in the recall. Third party inspector checked it out, and stated that it was clearly a manufacture defect. My truck was almost totalled...it screwed up a bunch of stuff underneath and part of the body... but I actually ended up getting it back. Insurance covered all but a small deductible, but now my insurance company is trying to sue Toyota and all this stuff. This all happened about 3 months ago.
