They called and said my pads are worn down to 2 1/2 mm, I was like ok replace them. Then a friend of mine called and said something about a recall that I never received a notice for and on here its about the lower ball joint. I asked the service guy and he asked if I had the recall letter and I said I was told to have him cross reference my vin number and he called back saying that there was no OPEN recalls. So now I am a little freaked out. My question is, was there once a recall on my truck that I was never informed of and now its to late and second, what can I do about it now? I know that after 30K I def need new brakes but did they wear down like that on there own or from help with the lower ball joint causing my front end to shake and cause the brakes to be affected. I need some help please. I want to march in there and be like look. I never received a notice. Nobody called me and if something goes wrong I am hiring a lawyer. What should or even can I do. Thanks...Amber
Welcome to the site Amber, this is an AWESOME site with LOTS of GREAT people. You'll see....
I also have an '04 Tundra. See pic below the "attatched thumbnail" pix"
and it was manufactured in May of '04, which means I have a high vin# ,
so my truck is not affected. I believe the early '04's,and older, had the lower ball-joint recall. You can see when your truck was manufactured, and of coarse, the vin#, on the inside of your drivers door.
See attatched photo's.
