Who ever told you this, HAS NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.
When you have a new key programmed to YOUR VEHICLE, the Toyota scan tool does all the communication to
your vehicle. It doesnt care about any other vehicle. There are only a certain number of key codes that can be stored
IN YOUR VEHICLE at any given time. I think it is 5 or 6 master keys. Make sure your smart key has a silver Toyota emblem on the back, otherwise its just a regular key.
Apparently your dealer doesnt have a clue.
Find another dealership.
