Default Re: Solara Questions - ASK ME!

PXL, I have a 2K Solara with about 100k miles on it. My question is what is the probability of the timing belt going belly up in the near future? This is my my 6th Toyota (pickup,4 runner, mini van, Tercel 4X4, and 2 Camrys). The Runner has 225K and still has orig timing belt. All the other vehicles had about or over 100k on them and had orig timing belts. Am I flirting with disaster? BTW I always use either Slick 50 or BG products in all engines, if that is a factor. Another ?. Isn't this engine the type (non-interference) that, if a timing belt goes, the the pistons and valves won't physically hit each other? Thanx. Just found info that says the 3.0 V6 Solara engine is an interference type engine. Which is it. Thanx again.
