Now for my Solara question - I am considering buying a Solara for a 3rd car for a little better gas mileage and more fun than my Tacoma and my wife's Sequoia and my wife wants a convertible and I am too tall for most import convertibles. I am looking for a V6 with a 5 spd. Was the convertible available with the 5spd and V6? What was the first year that combo was made? What kind of gas mileage does the 5spd / V6 get? Has there been a lot of complaints about the tops on these cars leaking or mechanical problems? I am a mechanic so I know about the motor, suspension, and brakes on the Camrys but I don't even know if the top is manual or power.
Also one last questions has there been any problems with the manual trannies that come with the V6. I have been a mechanic for almost 10 yrs but I don't see Solaras at my work at all.
