I am looking for a V6 with a 5 spd. Was the convertible available with the 5spd and V6? What was the first year that combo was made? What kind of gas mileage does the 5spd / V6 get? Has there been a lot of complaints about the tops on these cars leaking or mechanical problems? I am a mechanic so I know about the motor, suspension, and brakes on the Camrys but I don't even know if the top is manual or power. Also one last questions has there been any problems with the manual trannies that come with the V6. I have been a mechanic for almost 10 yrs but I don't see Solaras at my work at all.

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.
Hi dcab, the V6 is not available as a manual in the convertible. I think it might be on the sport coupe, but definitely no the convertible for 06 or 07, and I don't think it was for any other yeat either. PXL may know more.

I have not had a single problem with my top since the purchase on my 06 in April of 2005. The only gripe I have is that the top will drip on you when you open the door or roll the window down during rain. Top is holding up well, and I live in Florida. The top is power...you usually only get manual tops in the little roadster convertibles.

Can't help you with your manual transmission question, perhaps someone else will know.

Happy car hunting!
