I can't speak for any specific dealers in your areas but I know we still do a V06 about once every month or two where I work... if the tech finds damage on the cylinder walls after removal of the heads, they replace the block along with the head gaskets. There's no charge for that, but we usually request the customer pay to replace water pump, timing belt, etc while the engine is apart. That's mainly for our security so if a timing belt with 150k miles on it breaks the customer doesn't come back and say it's our fault because it didn't break until we worked on it.
