Default Re: 5" tuff country lift kit pros and cons...

I called Tuff Country this week and confirmed the new 5" kit for '05-'06 Tundras was ready and they were shipping orders. This was good news! So I asked the price...they couldn't give me one as they dont have a MSRP... I thought that was strange, they told me to call a dealer...so I did. One shop I called came back with $1800 and the other was $1900, uninstalled of course and I think the $1900 included the rear shocks. It's a little more than the 4.5" lift but way worth it! In fact if you search the net you'll find the 4.5" kit on sale...I think they are dumping them knowing everyone wants the 5" now. I found a good price at http://http://www.suspensionconnecti...tion/to=r.html

So I guess you have to ask yourself what do you want:

TC 4.5" $1300
TC 5" $1550 ('99-03) or $1900 ('05-'06)
RCD $2300

My dilemma is that I already have 2" SAW coilovers and can use them with the TC lifts but not the RCD. Also, I have 18x9 w/ 4.5" b.s wheels and don't think they will work with the RCD. So I think I might go for the TC 5" and use the SAW's, probably turned up a little.
