Default Pbrake stuck on? or is it stuck off?

We had the Pbrake stuck in the on position once.

The bell crank lever in the left rear wheel was stuck on, pushing the pbrake pad against the drum, and causing drag on the wheel. Smoking and vibration while driving drew our attention to this.

Had to tap on the bit of the lever sticking out of the dust cover where the cable was attached to get it to release so we could get home.

Dealer replaced PBrake crank and associated bits in left and right rear. Also put on new rotor/drums and replaced Pbrake and regular brake pads while they were at it.

If you can't even pull up the brake lever inside the cabin, you probably have a worn or corroded cable, or the cable has worn through one of the plastic guides. Crawl around under the truck on a flat lot, with the transmission in PARK of course, and have somebody work the lever up and down while you watch for movement.
