Default Re: Form-Fit Bug Shield

So Long Formfit!

I took the FormFit off for good. It's not broken, but without a clip, it flutters like a broken bird wing and the ONLY place that even was willing to get me a clip (after, no kidding, 58 calls!) quoted me a price of $69!!!!!!

So I decided to try one of the Colgan bras, and for $57 delivered (from performance products), it looks as good (if not better), no clips to deal with, has the added plus of having a screen over the grill keeping out the giant dragon flies and other critters that have ended up dinging the fins of my condensor and tranny cooler. Wish I had this bra from Day 1. I'll update with a photo soon. I think it's an improved look and it protects the hood just as well if not better than the FormFit. The only draw back I can see is that you are supposed to remove it to wash the truck and to let it dry if it gets wet...yeah, I don't care for this either but it literally comes of and back on in less than a minute, so it's only a minor annoyance. I keep her in the garage so it's not going to be much of an issue for me anyhow.

I've got the formfit up on the wall and will either sell it on ebay or save it just in case a clip shows up...

Only additions: Waterproof seat covers, Westin nerf bars, Colgan sport bra

REMOVED: Formfit hood deflector. Loved the look but a clip went missing. Can't find one for sale without the $45 hardware kit!

Mods: 12V outlet relay "fix" to have power when ignition switch is off.

Gripes: Weak leaf springs that Toyota doesn't want to warranty, paper-thin paint, interference design motor, crappy rear mud guards that cost $78 each (local dealer wanted $100) and only last 25k miles. Front mudguards built differently! (better)

Still the best truck I've owned to date.
