The only Taco I like is the double cab, the access cab is just too small for passengers bigger than kids.
So by the time I get the double cab with the towing package and all the other bells and whistles, I'm up to the price of the Tundra.
It good to know they can work as hard as the bigger trucks and tow almost as much as the gen 1 Tundra.

When the Tundra first came out I wanted one, but I'm glad I waited as I did because it would have ended too much of a truck. It was a close fit for the 04 Ext Cab Tacoma in the garage of a apartment I had in Albuquerque, no way would the Tundra fit in there. My 05 Tacoma might not have fit either.
I think the newer access cab Tacoma has more room in the back then the 04 extended had, but its nice to have a little more with the DC so people can get in and out with the front passengers having to climb out each time. Or to prevent the great feeling of someones knees stabbing you in the back. The DC has more rear seat space then most luxury cars have.
I think the attached pic is the Thule system. Would work pretty good for ladders, canoes or anything else. Would be a good way to ferry bikes around too for bike races or whatever, you could fill up the bed, the rack, and if you had a roof rack there would be even more space. Or, check out Tacodocs rack system with his tent, etc. THAT looks pretty darn heavy duty... and awesome.
