Re: TRD Dual Exhaust with Sound Clips
Didn't mean to offend anyone on the TRD exhaust. I had it on my 2000 SR5 Tundra and it was nice. The seven year old design on the Borla is just that. It does not need to be improved on, however for our trucks the design is in fact new due to the "two in" versus the "one in" on the 2006. The warranty is intact on ANY exhaust as long as you do not go forward of the catalytic converter. At idle its only slightly louder than stock. The Borlas shine when you are doing a fast acceleration and there is a nice smooth rumble that is not overbearing. I've had Gibson, Flowmaster, Magnaflow, TRD, and Bassini systems over the years, mostly on my Dodge trucks and the Borla is my preference. I also saved myself 600.00 versus letting the dealer put the TRD on. Again, both are all stainless and its a matter of preference. I kept the truck on cruise at 65 for about 50 miles or so and the gas average was definately improved by .7 mpg. My Dodge is a 5.7 Hemi with the Borla so there should not be any real difference between it and the Tundra on exhaust performance, except my Dodge is chipped.
