This is worrysome, as I have been actively trying to find a DC long bed I like to trade the Chevy in on. I would alreay have a Tundra if they made a Limited DC long bed. Food for thought, I must say. A little off topic, but I will really miss the OnStar phone when I do trade, as I often end up in places hunting with no (Verizon) reception where the OnStar phone has worked flawlessly. It's surprising no other makers have been able to emulate this system.
Onstar uses the Verizon network for it's telephone equipment. The reason you get better reception from Verizon with Onstar is from the fact the Onstar antenna is external and has greater range. But it's still Verizon.
