When I was a porter at a body shop of a Ford dealership, we had a Ford Ranger come in that had been hit by a deer. The owner of the truck had the deer whistles mounted on each of the side view mirrors. I don't think they are supposed to be mounted that far apart. Anyway, the deer hit the passenger side mirror, its head then went through the passenger window and into the cabin. The driver was looking at it face to face. The frame of the door hit the deer's neck and caused its body to swing into the side of the bed. In this case, it appears as though the deer whistle actually attracted the deer. Luckily no one was hurt and it was fairly easy to fix the truck.
