Default Re: Camshaft Failures in new 5.7?

Looks like Pickuptruck.com updated their article with more information on the camshaft issues. My Tundra was also built in Indiana but on 3/07 and I just recently had my 6-spd transmission replaced. Toyota's quality control isn't what it used to be that's for sure.

On another note, Dodge just recently issued a Rapid Response Transmittal (It is RRT#07-014 for you Dodge guys with dealerconnect access) to some of their dealers regarding poorly made crankshafts in the 6.7-liter Cummins. It only effects a small number of trucks but the RRT basically states the engine to be replaced and the truck to be sold at an auction as a "used" vehicle since the VIN #s no longer match between the engine and truck. Dodge is doing the right thing by trying to catch the problem before it gets into the hands of a customer.
