Default Re: Preference vs ordering

Just got off of the phone with Toyota Customer Service 1-800-331-4331. I called trying to get someone to explain all of this to me. I was told that there is no such thing as an order being placed for a Tundra. You cannot walk in and order a Tundra with exactly what you want on it and have that truck made for you.

The only thing that you can do is have a dealer enter the preferences you want on your Tundra. When and IF Toyota makes the exact truck you have requested, the dealer will be notified that there has been a match and will at that time have the option to get that truck. It is basically luck of the draw, if toyota makes a truck that matches what you order you are in business. If not, you can either buy a truck that is not exactly what you want, not buy at all, or head down the road to the closest GM dealership, place an order for your exact truck, and have that truck delivered in 6-8 weeks.

I have never had this much trouble trying to give a company $45,000 in my entire life.
